On the Road Again

We left home on Wednesday morning and made pretty good time.  We arrived at Wytheville, VA and got all set up.  No hot water.  This rig is still new to us so out come the manuals to try to figure it out.  Doug got the coffee brewing and we both read the manual on the hot water heater a few times over.  Go outside, come back in, go outside, come back in.  We go outside one more time and notice some water dripping out of bottom of the MH. Thinking we have a broken water line, we go back in, take out everything from under the kitchen sink to start there.  I open the door to the bathroom and the floor is wet.  Turns out the water valve on the toilet is leaking!  We turn off the water, sop up the mess and sit to think.

Doug finally got the hot water working and I went online to find a mobile RV service in the Jacksonville area where we will be the next day.  I called George on Thursday morning and he assures us that he will get us fixed up on Friday morning.  When I called him back to give him our site number, his wife tells me he will call me and let me know what time he will be here.  Well, it's Friday morning at 8:20 and no phone call from George, yet.  About 10 minutes later, there's a knock at the door and it's George!  An hour later, he had the toilet fixed and we were back in business.  He even installed an in-line shut off so that if toilet water valve fails again, we can shut off the water to just the toilet instead of the whole motor home.  If you're ever in the Jacksonville area, we would recommend George - The RV Doctor Mobile RV Repair...just Google him.

We are staying just 2 nights at Flamingo Lake RV Resort in Jacksonville before we head further south.  It's a very nice park with a lot of amenities.   A beautiful lake with 2 beach areas, pool, restaurant, nice wide and long sites, free cable (with what seems like 90 channels) and free wi-fi.  They give a discount for AAA or Good Sam's and there's a grocery, drug store, etc. within 1/2 a mile.   A nice place to stay.  Here's a photo of the lake...you can see how windy it is here today.

This afternoon, I am meeting someone with whom I play cards online nearly every day.  I'm looking forward to meeting her face to face...for coffee, of course.
